All days are led by Matt Dowse, an experienced runner and passionate outdoor enthusiast. Matt has been running marathons and ultra-races for over 10 years, finishing 100 and 50 mile trail races along with numerous trail marathons and shorter distance races.
In July 2019, Matt finished 16th out of a field of 250 in the Ultra Sierra Nevada, a 100km trail race from Granada to the peak of Veleta, incorporating 6,010m of climbing and 4,590m descent. He then went on to run two sub-3hr marathons in two weeks in December, finishing Valencia in 2:55:33 on 01/12/19, and then running 2:56:00 in Malaga on 15/12/2019. He is currently training for the Ultra Sierra Nevada in November 2020, and the Arc of Attrition 100 mile coastal race in January 2021.
Before moving to Spain, Matt was working as a Ranger with the South Downs National Park Authority. He has a keen interest in and excellent knowledge of biodiversity and wildlife conservation.
